Referrals: securing a referral from your PCP to see a specialist (if a referral is required by your insurance plan) is your responsibility. Failure to obtain a referral prior to your visit, if one was required could be costly, so make sure you verify with your insurance prior to your visit.

Deductibles and co-insurances: make sure you inquire from your insurance representative or HR specialist about any additional out-of-pocket cost beside your copay that you may be responsible for when you visit a specialist such as a dermatologist.
